about us
Previously, DEFRANCE Isolation (now Maison Bois du Val de l'Eyre) was specialised in external insulation under cladding. Our expertise is the result of a long and enriching experience in wood joinery. Later, realising that a large part of our business was building timber frame houses, we became Maison du Bois de Val de L'Eyre.
Our project to build Tiny Houses was born two years ago, as a side project. We were motivated by the idea of helping our prospects to reduce their carbon footprint and have a lower impact on the environment.
Our in-house carpenters built the prototype during off-peak periods in order to provide a display model to meet future demands.
Our teams consist of 4 carpenters and joiners, including the company manager.
We therefore have an exhibition model. It is open to visits, come and appreciate the proportions of your next home!

The concept
The concept of the "tiny house" appeared in the United States in 2007, during the subprime crisis.
Many people were looking for an alternative and inexpensive way to become a homeowner. The mobile, tiny house requires only a limited construction investment and has low operating costs for maintenance and heating.
The advantages of a Tiny House :
- Minimal investment whether self-built or purchased outright,
- Requires almost no maintenance,
- Does not cost much in heating,
- Minimum footprint,
- No building permit is required to install a Tiny House at home.
Some important rules for safety and legality:
- In order to be supported by an approved chassis, the Tiny house must respect the 3.5 tons and measure less than 2.5m wide
- A tiny house can accommodate 2 to 3 beds.
- It is nevertheless necessary to have a plot of land in order to be able to accommodate your Tiny House;
- It is necessary to have a driving licence and a vehicle specialised in towing the tiny house (utility or pick-up). But we have a delivery service.
